Blackthorne's Light

Blackthorne’s Light is a short, fun, magical, romantic and erotic read that both satisfied and tantalized this here paranormal romance fans craving for a quick fix. A definite must read for all fans of the genre looking for something different and sexy :)

Dara is unique in a very magical way. She is smart, beautiful and talented and is currently working on a written piece named “Bad Girls”. Her research brings her to a club that (unknowingly) holds her future. The question is… Will she accept it?

Trey was born different and has developed even more differences (and powers) with age. He’s an extraordinarily handsome, successful vampire that has many longings, the main one being peace. When one particular female walks into his club and lightens his soul as well as sparks his insides, he’ll stop at nothing to have her and the feelings she brings forth without even a slight effort on her part.

Together Trey and Dara are a perfect balance, the ying to the others yang. A perfect pair that I was (and still am) happy to see together and would LOVE to see more of!

At 57 pages, a lot of plot and action is not really expected, but I did expect the story to make more sense and to have more excitement, to be more interesting. This has to be the most boring vampire romance I've ever read. It wasn't until the 50% mark/p. 29 that the vamp meets his heroine and gets it on with her. Until that point, I got to see him have sex with two other women and see the heroine go on about her excrutiatingly boring, good-girl life and this article she's going to write. And as for the sex with one of those other women, the H does her from behind in the behind and uses her blood as lube.

Now, maybe I'm wrong, but that's how the scene read. Just not a turn on for me, blood as lube. Imagining bright blood all over his little vampire grossed me out. After that, it was really hard to even like, much less pant after, the hero.

As for the hero and his darkness, you get the idea from the blurb just what he's up to. He has a higher calling from 'someone,' some power that allows the H to see the evil/darkness in others. He then consumes this darkness by draining it and the immoral person's life blood. Sounds interesting, but it proved to be otherwise. And who/what the heroine turns out to be to him seemed an easy given. Really, the story just didn't seem that tight or cohesive, and it moved almost sluggishly, wasting half the book NOT on my h/H together.

I usually like Marie Harte, but for me, this was not her best outing. There should have been more time with h/H together; both lead characters come across as boring and without any real dimension or life to them; and the ending was too rushed, too tidy, and just too suddenly sweet HEA. There was potential here to have a darkly romantic short story, but overall, it was the romance that was lacking most of all.

Fantastic read

There is nothing better than reading a new take on an old tradition. Take some of the old and blend it with a new fresh outlook and you get Blackthorne's Light Dara turned out to be Trey's light to his dark. He needed her if he wanted to keep the darkness from taking over. Dara was not so sure but then again, the story is in the convincing. Blackthorne's Light is another amazing story from the pen of Marie Harte. Reading Blackthorne's Light is like eating an ice cream cone with a new unique flavor.

Author of various critically acclaimed books, Imtiaz Gul is Executive Director of Islamabad based independent think tank, the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS), which he established in December 2007 with the support of Heinrich Boell Stiftung (Germany). The Centre is a research and advocacy endeavour, primarily focusing on security and governance issues in Pakistan.

He has decades long journalistic, research and advocacy experience in security issues relating to Pakistan. He has presented papers at international security and counter-terrorism conferences/seminars in Brussels, Berlin, New Delhi, Kabul, New York, Washington, Hague, Riyadh and Rome from January 2010 to April 2011.

Black voices finally heard - more than just slaves

What is especially notable about this text is how it gives us the story in the voices of the people themselves and the tools to be able to hear them. Too often scholars narrate for the subjects of study or else give us texts which we don't know how to decipher across the barriers of time, dialect, ways of speech. In this volume the focus is always on the voices from the African diaspora. Highly recommend

I didn't go completely vegan on my HCG diet, but I was vegan before. This book is really great for learning how to season things. I used a LOT of the recipes while on the HCG diet, and continue to use them. The author really has a knack for herbs and spices. The diet worked very well for me, and this book helpx with maintenance.

A Vegan cookbook for everyone not just those wanting to experience the HCG Diet

Filled with clever tips and wonderful Vegan recipes Very innovative, easy and delicious. I'm been trying to go Vegan and this has been a real incentive. I had not embraced the HCG Diet because being a life long vegetarian I was told the HCG diet was not for me. Now that the door has been opened for me and others that stay clear of meat I'm going to give it go. I've even bought an extra copy for a friend. Maybe together we can make this work.
The author is very insightful and writes with a good understanding and a wonderful creative eye towards staying Vegan.
Let me add that if the HCG Diet is not something you might want to embrace right away the recipes and the information are worth the price of this book.

This book was a lifesaver! I was fading fast on HCG as a vegetarian, I didn't know what to eat and what I did eat was so bland. Then I found Tracy's cookbook and starting coaching sessions with her. After making meals from the cookbook I felt so much more confident about continuing with HCG and lost 22.4 lbs in 28 days. I loved my coaching sessions with Tracy because she has such great info but also is a good listener. She listens to me and what my concerns were and helped me. She inspired me to adopt a whole food plant based diet after I finished with HCG and I feel amazing! My energy level soared and I make it through the day with ease now. I sleep better and my skin looks amazing. Even though I'm done with HCG I continue to use Tracy's recipes in this book in my everyday life.

I have met Dr. Ursiny and heard him speak, so I had very high expectations for this book. As expected, the book is very readable, enlightening and most entertaining. My only problem ... and a major disappointment ... I read the Kindle version and the number of type-os is beyond distracting. A little better proofreading would have made a big difference in my perceived value of the book.

This is one of the best books I've bought in a long time, and I buy a lot of books! Tim Ursiny has a really interesting perspective on how to build confidence. This book is not full of the obvious or "common sense" stuff, but instead is really much more in depth. There are exercises after each chapter that you figure out just how to relate the lesson to your life. This book isn't just for someone that is struggling with confidence, but for someone that really wants to take a healthy level of confidence to the next level!

Honestly, this is the best book I've ever read on
self-confidence.
It really helps and doesn't waste your time by useless
talking. Each chapter takes around 15 minutes to read but
I think exercises take some more time.
I'm going to read it again and again, many helpful lessons
are there.
