Editor needed!

I thought this was a really good read - until the last 10 pages! The writing is good, and I thought that the characterizations of the teen-agers was particularly accurate, reflecting reality rather that what parents hope! There was a bit of a hole in the forensics - it appears that after the police found the gun, they stopped gathering evidence at the house - the girl had been in the bedroom and bathroom, and would have left evidence. Also, there was no attempt to discover where she was killed - it seemed to me she was shot in the house, and there should have been blood evidence. But putting that aside, the ending just leaves you hanging! I won't spoil it for you, but when you're done with the book, trust me, you'll be going, "Huh??".

very disappointing

I can understand why this book isn't available through amazon and hasn't appeared in any book stores, even though its been out for a year. Its simply very disappinting and the weakest of Freeman's works. I've always enjoyed his other books, but in this one, it seemed like his heart just wasn't in it. Even though the central characters are familiar from other books, it seems that he just doesn't care about them and the story. The story is fast-paced and relatively entertaining, but the characters never gain any dimension. The ending is a non-ending and feels very rushed. There is no resolution and no answers. It wasn't a bad book, but all in all, it simply wasn't worth the read.

Not Quite
By nope, not me
There is something off with th book. The author tried to tackle a complex legal and psychological thriller, he couldn't quite finesse it.
Someone else pointed out there were loopholes with forensics. Big noticeable ones....yet he goes into detail on the menu. What kind muffins are baked....

And the courtroom did i miss something, it seems a key witness for the defense never got to the stand. It made no sense, I got the distinct feeling while we the trial scenes the author decided on different ending. The result the end of the book feels rushed and disjointed.
I could on about his writing style and issues with point of view bouncing around, why bother. If you are a casual reader and thing like tight plotting, pacing and attention to detail are not a big deal you will enjoy the story.
If those elements are a big deal, I can't recommend because you won't find them here.

I am hoping English is a second language for him...

Using spell check cuts down on misspellings, but it does nothing for sentence construction or coherency. If it were not for the fact that he had maybe three horses that he flogged into a state of ground meat it would have been impossible to parse some of his sentences. Missing words, lack of agreement between noun and verb and the occasional word with no apparent purpose thrown in every so often made this a difficult read. He initially said blogging was simple, and an easy way to make money. Then, it was difficult. He claimed that "grammatical errors are welcome" at one point. He suggested choosing hot topics and debating others but advised the exact opposite just a few pages later.
The entire book had an almost schizophrenic feel to it. For anyone accustomed to coherency in a book, there will definitely be spots where you are disappointed. The swings from repetition to contradiction can easily cause a headache to anyone making a serious effort to follow the advice. When taking the repetition and convoluted writing style into account, this book could have made the same points in about one quarter of the words and time. It would also have been much less confusing.
I am certain that the author had very good intentions. However, good intentions do not a writer make. If he had spent even a few short hours on proofreading and verifying that he was consistent in his advice the result would have been much improved. I actually finished the book, but many will not be able to in its current form. The side trip into the world of blogging "cats" was abrupt and confusing, although it is possible he was allowing his cat to write for him- something which would explain a lot.
I would recommend that this author consider revising this book, ideally with some assistance with the editing. There is useful information contained within, but extracting it is so difficult as to make it impractical.

Excellent read, full of good advice!

Please note, that I am only 71% of the way through this book. I have to tell you that I'm impressed. Since it was a free edition I wasn't expecting the content I received. There were typos though, and a few double sentences that proper editing would take care of, otherwise I would have rated this book a solid five stars.

The simple facts of the matter is that this author did his research. He has organized the structure of this book very well, and makes it easy to find a topic that pertains to what you want to do. At first I wondered why I was reading an section on spam, since I NEVER intend to spam but then I realized that a simple comment, even if it was actually intentional, could be construed as spam! That's just one of MYRIADS of items that I have come to understand after reading this book.

I wish he hadn't spent as much time on cat blogging as he did, but then I realized that a few pages dedicated to a growing niche was actually helpful. It got me thinking that maybe an article written from the perspective of a beer glass would be more appropriate for me.

Another note, the writer informed me that I needed to sign up for Technorati.com, which I did. Then drops the subject like a bad habit, never mentioning it again. I still don't know why I signed up, but I'm hoping he returns to the subject again in later chapters. All in all, this book is a steal for free. Thank you Ryan! I will look for your titles in the future!

EVEN..I LOVED IT! (and I'm the mom!!) lol *Always BELIEVE*

I have been buying all the Disney Fairy books for my little girl and LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM! I so very much wish when I was growing up they had all these different faries! She and her cousins are always running in the woods "finding' the woods faries and the water fairiese ecr..it' soo cute! I started reading her books when her bus was late and when shes in her music class after school. Now I can actually talk to my daughter like "look! I think silvermist was her!" and she's in awe looking at anything even the morning dew has become sacred :) same with snow and the sparkles.. Queen Clarion... the head of the faries is so delightful and not often in the books. This was fun as it showed they needed eachothers different special talents to work together,and find queen clarion. (i wont spoil where lol)

That each fairy is completely different than eachother shows kids that we ARE all different and also that ust because perhaps you wish you had the talent someone else has..they also wish to have a talent they don't have and so don't hate eachother from ealously which is real life with kids.. Vidia is always nasty..oh goodness! and Tink finds ways to get her to chill out which i love as well.

Best shipping deal is to buy a bunch from the same dealer (or if you have Prime than nevermind haha) they will usually always give you a shipping deal.. this series will I guarentee become addicting so order all of them while you can. It's the best book collection written today for girls in my opinion. Yes I also like the American Doll collection however when I win the lotto which won't happen cuz I don't play it ..well.. hahahaaa those are terrific books too yes so those 2 series are the only 2 i absolutely trust that I dont have to read first before she does. The Disney Fairies are PERFECT IN EVER MAGICAL WAY!

Queen Clarion's Secret

I purchased about 15 of the Disney fairy books, which I thought would be great summer reading for my 7 year old granddaughter. Queen Clarion was the first one she selected. Even though she has needed a little help with some of the vocabulary, she tells me she has enjoyed reading it . I also bought this book for my 35 year old niece who's name is Lisel and sent it to her as a surprise. As she read it she discovered why I had sent her the book. These books are great reading for little girls. Great bonding time!

As always the Disney Fairies Chapter Books are not only great books for my daughter but they are also wonderful to read and enjoy together. My daughter continues to ask me for the next book that comes out and I don't hesitate to surprise her for either her birthday or Christmas. Thank you for these wonderful books.
