Poorly Updated

This is a required text for a class I am taking, but I have found it to be a poorly updated 9th Edition of a book. The first chapter gives such basic information about email, computers and the internet, that you would think the internet was just invented. Shame on the author and publishers for selling a book originally published in 1993 with very little work put in to making it relevant and current in its 9th Edition. For any aspiring or out of work authors, perhaps here is an opportunity to write your own book with a little more effort, which can be much more useful for today.

Beware - does not work!

This access card never worked and I had to return it for a refund. From working with both Amazon and the text's company, I was finally told that I should be wary of purchasing access cards from third-parties. Apparently the version this was is not an official publication from the publisher, so they could never get it to work. So - beware if you purchase this!

Jonathan Herring is a Fellow in Law at Exeter College, University of Oxford. He specializes in family law (alongside medical law and criminal law). He has written several books including Family Law (5th ed Pearson, 2011), which is used in most universities in the UK. There are many tough ethical questions at the crossroads of engineering and technology -- ones that are raised on a surprisingly regular basis. Ethics, Technology, and Engineering teaches engineering students the relevant moral skills for dealing with ethical issues inherent in engineering practice. About the Author
Ibo van de Poel is Associate Professor in Ethics and Technology at Delft University of Technology. He is an associate editor of the Handbook of Philosophy of Technology and the Engineering Sciences (2009) and co-editor of Philosophy and Engineering (2010).

Lamb�r Royakkers is Associate Professor in Ethics of Technology at Eindhoven University of Technology, and Associate Professor in Military Ethics at Netherlands Defense Academy. He is also Project Leader of the research programme Moral Fitness of Military Personnel in a Networked Environment, sponsored by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research.

It's okay. My rating is based on unreal expectations

It is a reasonable text for engineering students. It covers four moral theories adequately for the engineering mind. But contractarian moral theory is not adequately treated.

Bought this book for my engineering ethics class, and it was used at a good price and in good condition. Haven't read the whole thing yet, but it looks good so far.
